Global smartphone sales are expected to recover in 2024, with a projected growth of 6.2% and an estimated total of 1.24 billion units, following a decline in the previous two years (IDC).
However, Apple Inc. is predicted to experience only a slight increase of 0.4% in iPhone volumes, indicating the growing competition from Android-based manufacturers, particularly in China and emerging markets.
Despite the relatively slow growth in unit sales, Apple maintains its dominance in terms of profitability, with an average selling price of over $1,000 per device. On the other hand, Android competitors have an estimated average selling price of around $295 per unit, highlighting the significant price difference in the smartphone market.
