GE Vernova Inc. and Chantiers de l’Atlantique have been awarded a significant contract worth €350 million ($368 million) to construct a substation for a wind farm located off the northern coast of France.
The purpose of this project is to increase the power grid's capacity to accommodate a growing number of renewable energy sources.
The substation will be located near Dunkirk harbor and all equipment will be manufactured in France.
This initiative is part of a larger plan by Reseau de Transport d’Electricite to increase investments in grid infrastructure in response to the rising demand for renewable energy integration.
