Kristine Schulze, a member of the Social Democratic Party (SP), has been elected to the Council of the Zurich Cantonal Bank (ZKB) by the Zurich Cantonal Council. She will be taking over the position previously held by Heinrich Kisker for the remainder of the current term, which spans from 2023 to 2027.
It is worth noting that Schulze was the only candidate for the role, ensuring a smooth transition. The ZKB Board of Directors consists of 13 members, three of whom serve in full-time capacities. The current Chairman is Jörg Müller-Ganz from the Free Democratic Party (FDP).
This election is a significant development in the governance of one of Switzerland's major financial institutions.
