Jairam Ramesh, a Congress leader, criticized the central government after Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal made remarks suggesting that food inflation should not be considered when deciding interest rate cuts.
The Congress party accused the government of manipulating data to suit its agenda, alleging that they simply change the data if it does not align with their priorities.
Meanwhile, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das chose not to comment on Goyal's suggestion, indicating that the rate-setting panel will make an appropriate decision at its upcoming meeting in December.
