Regula Berger appointed as new CEO of Basler Kantonalbank starting March 2025

Basler Kantonalbank (BKB) is undergoing a leadership transition with the appointment of Regula Berger as CEO and Chairwoman of the Group Executive Board, effective March 1, 2025.

Berger will succeed Basil Heeb, who has decided to step down after serving as CEO for six years. Heeb plans to utilize his extensive management experience in future roles outside of BKB.

Berger, who has been Deputy CEO since December 2023 and Head of Commercial Client Sales since 2021, brings a wealth of experience to her new role. She has been a member of BKB's Group Executive Board since September 2019 and previously led the Legal & Compliance department from 2018 to 2021.

The Bank Council Chairman, Adrian Bult, commended Berger's professional expertise and leadership skills, highlighting her strong track record since joining the Group six years ago.

BKB has stated that the appointment of a successor for the Head of Commercial Client Sales and the Deputy CEO position will be announced at a later date.
