private equity firms see significant rise in employee compensation this year

KKR & Co. and Carlyle Group Inc. have both experienced a significant increase in compensation tied to realized gains.

In the first nine months of the year, KKR & Co. distributed $843 million to its top performers, almost double the amount from the same period in 2023.

Similarly, Carlyle Group Inc. saw a substantial rise in payouts, with approximately $542 million allocated from January through September, up from $286 million during the same timeframe last year.
