India's market capitalisation experiences largest drop since March 2020

India's market capitalisation experienced a significant decline in October, with foreign investors selling off their holdings. The SENSEX and NIFTY indices both fell, as did the BSE Midcap and BSE Smallcap indices. The total market cap decreased by 7.6%, losing $37 billion to settle at $4.53 trillion.

This decline positions India as the fifth-largest market drop globally, following Belgium, Portugal, Venezuela, and the Netherlands.
