Jharkhand's economic decline under JMM government highlights growth stagnation issues

Jharkhand's economic performance has shifted from growth to stagnation under the JMM-led government, according to recent statements from BJP leaders.

The BJP has emphasized its commitment to tribal welfare and highlighted the development in tribal areas through the aspirational districts program. The JMM's governance has been criticized by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for mismanagement.

Official data shows a significant contrast in economic performance between the NDA and JMM administrations. Jharkhand's per capita income increased by 32% from 2014-15 to 2018-19 under the NDA, while the JMM government experienced a drastic decline in growth rates, dropping to just 18% from 2018-29 to 2022-23. The Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) growth rate also fell from 23% during the NDA's tenure to 12% under the current government, highlighting the economic challenges faced by the state.
