Scania, the truckmaking brand of Volkswagen AG, has made an announcement regarding its future electric trucks. They have decided to exclusively use Northvolt batteries for these trucks.

This decision is seen as a strong endorsement of Northvolt, a Swedish battery manufacturer that is currently facing financial challenges and seeking a rescue package. Scania's CEO, Christian Levin, has confirmed that all currently sold battery electric vehicles will be equipped with Northvolt cells. He emphasized that the supply volumes from Northvolt are meeting their expectations in the current market landscape.

This move is expected to significantly strengthen Northvolt's position in the competitive battery sector.
