Ola Electric launches affordable S1 Z and Gig scooters with portable battery

Ola Electric's shares experienced a 9% surge, reaching an intraday high of Rs 79.4 on November 27. This increase followed the launch of their new S1 Z and Gig range of electric scooters, which are priced starting at Rs 39,000.

The CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal, announced the launch on an undisclosed platform, highlighting the scooters' unique portable battery that can also function as a home inverter when used with the Ola PowerPod. Reservations for the new models are now open, and deliveries are expected to begin in April 2025.

The Gig range, specifically designed for gig workers, consists of two variants: 'Gig' priced at Rs 39,999 and 'Gig+' priced at Rs 49,999 (ex-showroom). These scooters will be available for both business-to-business transactions and rental services, according to the company.
