A German deputy economy minister is currently in Taiwan to discuss supply chain cooperation, specifically in the semiconductor sector.
Udo Philipp, who works under Economy Minister Robert Habeck, will be meeting with officials and executives during his visit, including a trip to Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.
On Tuesday, Philipp will attend the Taiwan-Germany Joint Business Council meeting, where the focus will be on strengthening collaboration in the semiconductor industry.
This visit highlights the increasing significance of Taiwan's semiconductor capabilities in global supply chains and demonstrates Germany's strategic interest in deepening ties with Taiwan in this crucial sector.
