Hyundai Motor has introduced its latest all-electric vehicle, the 2026 Ioniq 9 SUV, which can accommodate up to seven passengers. This three-row SUV is Hyundai's largest electric vehicle offering so far, joining the existing Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 models.
The Ioniq 9 will be available at U.S. dealerships in the spring and comes with fast charging capabilities that enable it to charge from 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes. It has an estimated range of 335 miles on a single charge and can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in as little as 4.9 seconds.
While the pricing details have not been disclosed by Hyundai, the Kia EV9, which shares the same platform, starts at around $55,000. The Ioniq 9 has a unique exterior design compared to its Kia counterpart and smaller Hyundai EVs. Despite the slower-than-expected adoption of electric vehicles, Hyundai remains committed to its goal of offering a comprehensive range of 23 EV models in the U.S. by 2030.
The Ioniq 9 will be manufactured at a new multibillion-dollar facility in Georgia and is expected to be available for sale in Korea and the U.S. in the first half of 2025, followed by a rollout in Europe and other markets.
