ACC reports 49 percent decline in net profit for Q2 2024

ACC Ltd, a subsidiary of the Adani Group, announced a significant decrease of 49% in its consolidated net profit for the September 2024 quarter, amounting to Rs 200 crore, compared to Rs 387.88 crore in the same period last year. The company shared these figures in an exchange filing, highlighting the challenges faced in the current fiscal year.

Despite the decline in net profit, ACC Ltd witnessed an increase in total income, which rose to Rs 4,772.11 crore from Rs 4,644.78 crore in the previous year. Revenue from operations also grew by 4% to reach Rs 4,613.52 crore, driven by higher trade sales volume and a focus on premium products. These results reflect the ongoing dynamics in the cement and building materials sector in India.

The increase in total income can be attributed to the company's focus on premium products and higher trade sales volume. This growth in revenue from operations is a positive sign for ACC Ltd, despite the decrease in net profit. The challenges faced in the current fiscal year highlight the competitive nature of the cement and building materials sector in India.
