Crédit Agricole S.A., a prominent European banking group and a key player in the French economy, has reported a diverse breakdown of its net banking income.
Retail banking and corporate, investment, and market banking each contribute 30.1% to its income, while asset management, insurance, and private banking account for 25.9%. Specialized financial services, including consumer credit and leasing, make up 13.9% of the total.
As of the end of 2023, Crédit Agricole S.A. managed EUR 835 billion in deposits and EUR 516.3 billion in loans. The bank has a strong presence in France (46%), followed by Italy (20%) and the European Union (14.3%). Other regions include North America (6%), Japan (1.3%), and Asia and Oceania (3.5%), highlighting its extensive international footprint.
The General Court of the European Union has recently upheld the European Commission"s decision to impose fines on Crédit Agricole and Credit Suisse for their involvement in a cartel, reinforcing the regulatory scrutiny faced by major financial institutions in Europe.
