Blackstone considers strategic review and potential sale of EPL majority stake

Blackstone is said to be considering a review of its portfolio company, EPL Ltd, which is the largest specialty packaging company in the world.

The private equity firm acquired a majority stake in EPL for up to $460 million in April 2019 and has received initial interest from potential buyers.

It is reported that discussions are in the early stages, but a complete sale of the stake through an M&A auction could be a possibility after more than five years of investment.

Currently, Blackstone holds a controlling stake of 51.47% in EPL, which is valued at approximately Rs 4,402 crore based on recent market prices.

The overall market capitalization of EPL is Rs 8,544 crore, and the company's share price has increased by 48.43% over the past six months.
