Deutsche Telekom AG has chosen Nokia Oyj to expand its open network infrastructure in northern Germany. The plan is to deploy more than 3,000 open network sites, which will utilize OpenRAN technology.
This technology allows telecom operators to integrate components from different vendors, reducing reliance on single-source suppliers. Nokia's advanced technology will be combined with Fujitsu radios to create a more flexible and efficient network architecture.
This partnership reflects the telecom industry's increasing adoption of open standards and multi-vendor solutions, with the goal of improving service delivery and operational efficiency in the rapidly changing telecommunications landscape.
