T-Mobile agrees to 31.5 million settlement over multiple data breaches

T-Mobile has agreed to pay a settlement of $31.5 million to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) due to multiple data breaches that exposed the personal information of millions of customers.

These breaches occurred over the past three years, with the most recent incident affecting around 37 million customers in January 2023. Earlier breaches in 2022 and 2021 compromised 76 million accounts. T-Mobile has experienced several smaller data breaches since 2018, which raises ongoing concerns about safeguarding customer data in the telecommunications industry.
