UBS is increasing its investment in artificial intelligence, specifically generative AI. They plan to deploy 50,000 Microsoft Copilot licenses in addition to their own AI assistant, Red.
By the end of the year, Red will be available to around 20,000 employees in Switzerland, Hong Kong, and Singapore. This will improve their ability to access product information and investment research. Red is currently used mainly by customer advisors and has a user-friendly interface and a feedback loop for quality assessment, similar to ChatGPT.
Unlike public AI models, Red is hosted in Switzerland to ensure strict data security. The tool connects to specific UBS modules, such as "UBS Investments" and "UBS Products," providing quick access to important product data and in-house financial market insights. This innovation aims to increase efficiency, especially for new employees, by simplifying information retrieval.
