the resurgence of print magazines in a digital age

Print media is making a comeback in 2024, despite the decline in traditional publications in recent years.

Many magazines have gone digital or reduced their publication frequency. Condé Nast, once a dominant force, now only operates eight print titles. Bloomberg Businessweek has also made changes, switching from a weekly to a monthly print edition after almost 100 years.

However, there is a resurgence happening as several well-known titles, such as Field & Stream, Nylon, Saveur, Sports Illustrated, and Vice, are reintroducing print products. This trend is supported by the rise of small, independent publications like Apartamento, Bitter Southerner, the Drift, and HommeGirls, which are finding success in the print landscape. The Covid-19 pandemic has also led to the launch of many new print ventures, suggesting a potential shift in consumer interest towards physical media.
