India Aims to Reduce Logistics Costs to Single Digits in Two Years

India's Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, has announced plans to decrease the country's logistics costs from the current 16% to single-digit levels within the next 2-3 years.

The objective of this initiative is to enhance India's economic competitiveness and streamline supply chain operations. Gadkari emphasized the government's commitment to constructing green express highways, stating that all projects are economically viable and well-funded.

Alongside logistics improvements, Gadkari stressed the significance of hydrogen as a future fuel source and advocated for the exploration of biomass and biodigester technologies to produce hydrogen and compressed natural gas (CNG). He expressed confidence that India will become a global leader in alternative and biofuels within the next decade.

The minister also provided insights on toll revenue, which currently stands at Rs 52,000 crore, with projections indicating it could reach Rs 1.4 lakh crore in two years. These developments reflect the government's strategic focus on infrastructure and sustainable energy solutions to drive economic growth.
