Onshore Wind Tender Achieves Record Bids and Capacity in Latest Round

The recent tender round for onshore wind turbines conducted by the Federal Network Agency (BnetzA) saw a significant increase in bids, with a total of 528 bids submitted for a capacity of 6,083 megawatts on November 1, 2024.

Klaus Müller, President of the Federal Network Agency, highlighted that the number of bids more than doubled the previous record and approached the total number of bids from all tender rounds in 2023 combined. This positive trend is expected to have a significant impact on commissioning activities in the coming year.

The average volume-weighted award value was recorded at 7.15 cents per kilowatt hour, slightly lower than the previous round's 7.33 cents, and bidding prices ranged from 6.93 to 7.35 cents per kilowatt hour.
