Pacific Fusion Corp. has successfully raised more than $900 million in a Series A funding round, establishing itself as a significant player in the nuclear fusion energy sector.
The investment was led by General Catalyst, with contributions from Breakthrough Energy Ventures and a group of notable individual investors, including Ken Griffin, the founder of Citadel, and Patrick Collison, the co-founder of Stripe.
The funding round has also resulted in the addition of key figures to Pacific Fusion's board, such as Hemant Taneja from General Catalyst, former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, and Patrick Collison. This further strengthens the startup's leadership and strategic direction.
