bse changes expiry days for sensex and bankex contracts starting 2025

The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) has recently announced a change to the expiry days for its monthly contracts of Sensex, Bankex, and Sensex 50, effective January 1, 2025.

Starting from that date, all monthly contracts will expire on the last Tuesday of each month, instead of the previous practice of expiring on different days of the week. This change is aimed at improving the trading process and increasing market efficiency.

Additionally, the expiry days for quarterly and semi-annual contracts of Sensex will also be adjusted, moving from the last Friday of the expiry month to the Tuesday of the expiry month.
