curaçao government assumes healthcare investment costs for medical center construction

The government of Curaçao has announced that it will increase its financial commitment to the healthcare system by taking on the investment costs associated with the Curaçao Medical Center (CMC).

This includes assuming the loan repayment and interest, which amounts to 18 million Netherlands Antilles guilders (approximately 9.65 million euros) annually.

HNO Vastgoed en Beheer NV has been managing these costs since 2019.

The transfer of ownership of the CMC building is scheduled to take place in the fourth quarter of 2024.

Once the transfer is complete, the hospital will be officially registered under the government's name, which is a significant step in improving the healthcare infrastructure on the island.

This initiative demonstrates the government's commitment to enhancing healthcare services for its citizens.
