sovcomflot clarifies dubai lng ships not part of shadow fleet

Sovcomflot PJSC has stated that three liquefied natural gas tankers recently transferred to a new Dubai-based company are not part of the so-called shadow fleet.

The vessels, named Velikiy Novgorod, Pskov, and La Perouse, had their management transitioned to Matias Ship Management in September.

This announcement comes amid ongoing scrutiny of shipping operations linked to Russian entities.

Sovcomflot, a state-controlled shipping giant, emphasized that the transfer of these vessels does not indicate any involvement in illicit shipping practices.

The company continues to operate within the framework of international maritime regulations.
