India's formal job market has witnessed a significant change in the first half of FY25, with women surpassing men in new enrollments to the government's Employees' Provident Fund (EPF).
Over the past year, women's enrollments have increased by 5.5 percent, while male enrollments have declined by 1.6 percent. As a result, women now account for 27.4 percent of new EPF enrollments, compared to 26 percent a year ago.
This positive trend in women's participation is evident across various job sectors, indicating a broader improvement in the formal labor market for women.
