foreign institutional investors continue selling while domestic investors increase purchases

During the latest trading session, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares worth Rs 4,384 crore, following a significant sell-off of nearly Rs 11,000 crore the previous day, which was one of the highest single-day sell-offs this year.

On the other hand, domestic institutional investors (DIIs) demonstrated strong buying activity, purchasing shares valued at Rs 5,723 crore. DIIs acquired shares worth Rs 15,202 crore and sold shares worth Rs 9,478 crore during the session, indicating robust market participation.

Meanwhile, FIIs purchased shares totaling Rs 14,786 crore but sold equities worth Rs 19,170 crore. Year-to-date figures show that FIIs have sold approximately Rs 2.99 lakh crore, while DIIs have bought shares amounting to Rs 5.7 lakh crore, highlighting a significant divergence in market sentiment between domestic and foreign investors.
