Hainan Airlines Holding Co. has made an announcement regarding their intention to purchase 40 ARJ21-700 jets from the Commercial Aircraft Corp. of China (Comac). This acquisition is valued at up to $1.52 billion and is part of the airline's strategy to improve their fleet and support their business expansion plans.

Hainan Airlines' low-cost carrier unit, Urumqi Air, will carry out the deal. Each aircraft will have a price tag of around $38 million. The delivery of these new jets will take place in multiple batches between 2025 and 2032, representing a significant investment in the airline's operational capabilities.
