UK government borrowing exceeds forecasts with October deficit of 17.4 billion

In October, the UK government borrowed more than expected, with a deficit of £17.4 billion ($22 billion). This amount was higher than the £13.3 billion predicted by economists and is the second-highest deficit recorded for the month.

From April to October of the fiscal year, total borrowing reached £96.6 billion, which is £1.1 billion higher than the same period in the previous fiscal year. These figures highlight the ongoing fiscal challenges faced by the government as it manages its budgetary commitments.
