foreign smartphone sales in china plummet 44 percent in october

In October, foreign smartphone sales in China experienced a significant decline of 44.25% year-on-year, with sales of foreign-branded smartphones dropping to 6.22 million units from 11.149 million units in the same month last year.

However, overall phone sales in China saw a modest increase of 1.8%, reaching 29.67 million units.

Apple's performance is particularly influential in the foreign smartphone market, as it remains the largest foreign phone maker in China. The company launched its iPhone 16 models in September, but the anticipated AI feature tailored for the Chinese market will not be available until next year, and Apple has yet to announce a partnership for AI in China.
