softbank to build japan's most powerful ai supercomputer with nvidia chips

SoftBank Group Corp. has secured a deal to become the first customer of Nvidia Corp.'s new Blackwell chip design, aiming to establish Japan's most powerful AI supercomputer.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance the country's capabilities in artificial intelligence, responding to increasing demand for advanced computing solutions.

The supercomputer will utilize Nvidia's DGX B200 product, which integrates computer processors with AI accelerator chips, to support a variety of local services.

Following this initial deployment, a more advanced version featuring Grace Blackwell is planned, further solidifying SoftBank's commitment to advancing AI technology in Japan.
