UBS shares decline as investors sell amid mixed quarterly results

UBS shares were one of the underperformers in the SMI, trading at CHF 28.21 on Monday afternoon, a decline of 0.9 percent. The stock opened at CHF 28.25 and reached a low of CHF 28.17. So far, 749,889 shares have been traded.

The SMI is currently at 12,299 points. UBS shares would need to increase by 2.02 percent to reach their 52-week high of CHF 28.78, achieved on June 3, 2024. Conversely, a decrease of 25.98 percent would be required to reach the 52-week low of CHF 20.88, recorded on October 27, 2023.

Analysts expect a dividend payout of USD 0.823 for this year, up from CHF 0.640 in 2023. UBS reported earnings per share of CHF 0.32 for the quarter ending June 30, 2024, a significant decrease from CHF 8.42 a year earlier. However, turnover increased by 38.06 percent to CHF 19.76 billion compared to CHF 14.32 billion in the same period last year. The company is scheduled to present its Q3 2024 financial results on October 30, 2024, with expectations of reporting earnings of USD 1.65 per share for 2024.
